ChorePlanner ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our chore scheduling service.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us:
- Account information: When you sign in with one of our authentication partners (Google, etc), we receive your name and email address from your identity provider.
- Chore plan data: The people, chores, and scheduling preferences you enter into ChorePlanner.
- Payment information: If you subscribe, Stripe processes your payment. We store only your subscription status and Stripe account identifiers — no credit card numbers, billing addresses, or other payment details.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve ChorePlanner
- Generate your personalized chore schedules
- Process your subscription payments
- Send important service updates (we don't send marketing emails because that's gross and we hate it too)
Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Stripe: To process payments securely
- Amazon Web Services: To host and operate our service, including authentication management
Data Retention
We retain your chore plan data as long as your account is active. Generated schedules older than 2 months are automatically deleted. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication via OAuth, and encrypted database storage.
Your Rights
You can:
- Access and update your chore plan data at any time
- Request a copy of your data
- Request deletion of your account and data
